Getting Started with PayHelm
Welcome to PayHelm! Follow these six steps to get your account fully set up and start making smarter, faster decisions with AI-powered ecommerce analytics.
Step 1: Link Your Stores to PayHelm
Connect every sales channel you sell on so PayHelm can pull your order, product, and customer data into one unified dashboard.
Supported platforms include Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Amazon Seller Central, Etsy, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, Square, PayPal, and more.
- Go to Integrations in the left navigation.
- Click the platform you sell on and follow the authorization steps.
- Repeat for each store or marketplace you use.
Tip: Connect all your stores before moving on — PayHelm becomes most powerful when your entire sales picture is in one place.
Step 2: Connect Your Ad Platforms and Analytics Tools
Link your marketing and analytics accounts so PayHelm can correlate your ad spend, traffic, and revenue in one place.
- Google Analytics 4 — traffic, sessions, and conversion data
- Google Search Console — organic search performance and keyword rankings
- Google Ads — keyword spend, ROAS, and conversion tracking
- Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) — campaign performance and attribution
- TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, Bing Ads — additional paid channels
- Klaviyo or Mailchimp — email marketing performance
To connect any platform, go to Integrations, select the platform, authorize PayHelm with your account, and choose the ad accounts, properties, or audiences you want to import. Connecting these platforms unlocks cross-channel attribution so you can see which campaigns are actually driving orders and revenue.
Step 3: Invite Your Team
Add your team members so everyone has access to the reports and AI tools they need.
- Go to Settings → Team & Users.
- Click Invite Team Member.
- Enter their email address and select their role (Admin, Analyst, Viewer, etc.).
- They will receive an invite email with instructions to set up their account.
Agency note: If you manage multiple client accounts, you can add client users and restrict their access to specific stores or data views.
Step 4: Your Data Will Begin Importing
Once your stores are connected, PayHelm immediately begins pulling in your historical order data. The import runs automatically in the background — you don't need to do anything.
| Store Size | Approximate Import Time |
|---|---|
| Small (under 1,000 orders) | 1–6 hours |
| Medium (1,000–10,000 orders) | 6–24 hours |
| Large (10,000–50,000 orders) | 1–3 days |
| Enterprise (50,000+ orders) | Up to 1 week |
The more years of history you have and the more orders per day you process, the longer the initial import takes. Once complete, new data syncs continuously throughout the day.
On a free trial? If your import is still running when your trial ends, contact support — we routinely extend trials until your data is fully loaded.
Step 5: Perform Your First AI Task
PayHelm's AI can act as a full marketing and operations analyst. Once your data is connected, try asking it to do something real:
- Build a report showing your top 20 products by revenue last month
- Compare Google Ads ROAS across campaigns for the last 30 days
- Audit your Google Tag Manager setup and flag any missing or broken tags
- Find keywords in Search Console with high impressions but low click-through rates
- Write 3 Facebook ad variations for your best-selling product
- SEO-optimize your top 10 Shopify product pages
The AI can build reports, complete tasks, optimize ads, build content, audit your Google Tag Manager, update your Google Tag Manager, SEO-optimize your Shopify store, and just about anything else a skilled analyst or marketer would do.
To run a task, click AI Agent in the left navigation, type your request in plain English, then review the results and apply them.
Step 6: Set Up a Daily AI Marketing Review
One of the most powerful ways to use PayHelm is to have the AI automatically review your marketing performance every day.
Suggested daily prompt: "Review yesterday's performance across all channels. Summarize revenue vs. target, ad spend efficiency, top-performing products, and flag anything that needs attention."
Or for a weekly summary: "Give me a weekly marketing review for last week, compare it to the prior week, and identify the top 3 opportunities to improve."
To schedule a recurring task, go to AI Agent → Scheduled Tasks, click New Scheduled Task, write your prompt, set the frequency (daily or weekly), and choose your delivery method — dashboard, email, or Slack. With a daily review running automatically, you will always start your day knowing exactly where to focus.
You're All Set
